ABSTRACT:
This 27 page paper examines the decline of Haute couture and the rise of prêt-a-porter. The paper looks at the influences which have been seen on haute couture over the years including social and economic impacts in order to assess how or why prêt-a-porter (ready to wear) has been able to blur the lines the differentiated Haute couture and prêt-a-porter and increase its own desirability of the cost of Haute couture.
